Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always to the very end of the age."  Matthew 28:18-20

Once you have professed your faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and have been baptized (either as an infant or as an adult), membership is as simple as attending one of our quarterly new members' classes, which we call "The Next Level" (TNL). This class will provide you with background information on NAPC, will briefly touch on the history of the Christian faith, and will introduce you to the various ministries at NAPC.

Throughout the TNL class, we expand upon the following "Six Marks of Membership", which we have adopted in order to put our beliefs into practice. The Six Marks of Membership include:

  • Spiritual Growth: Faith in Christ as Savior and Lord and a commitment to a deepening relationship with God through spiritual growth, prayer, Bible study and other spiritual disciplines.
  • Community: Regular Sunday worship and sharing life together.
  • Reach-Out: Reaching out to others with the love of Christ through word and deed.
  • Service: Seeing a need and using my unique gifts to fulfill that need at New Albany Presbyterian Church and beyond.
  • Giving: Generous and sacrificial giving toward the kingdom of God at NAPC and beyond.
  • Justice: Seeking to make the world more fair.

Blessings of Membership

Once you have attended the TNL class and become a member, you are a full participant in the life of NAPC as you continue your spiritual journey. We want you to use your gifts and talents to serve others and build meaningful relationships. As a member, you can:

  • Vote at church meetings and have a say in how the church functions.
  • Request support and care services through the church’s caring ministries.
  • Serve as an Elder or Deacon and be a part of the church leadership team.
  • Become a "spiritual investor" in our church and the cause of Christ.
  • Be a leader in our Mission and Outreach programs and be accountable for a team of people working together to spread the Gospel and serve Christ.
