Caring Ministries & Gatherings Print E-mail

Congregational care needs are fulfilled by many ministries at NAPC, but the majority of needs are handled by the Deacons ministry and Pastor David Milroy.  The Deacons oversee many activities that the Church is involved in, but their primary focus is on pastoral care for the members of the Church.  Typical activities include:

  • Meet and Greet Visitors:  We try to meet and greet every visitor on Sunday and make them feel welcome and comfortable.  We want visitors to feel cared for and feel like they are a part of warm family of faith.

  • Flowers and Cards:  Deacons reach out to members through cards and flowers to recognize births, deaths, baptisms, illnesses, injuries, surgeries, and other events.

  • Prayer:  We gather before the service on Sunday at 9:30 for prayer time with all who attend; Pastor David leads the group during this intimate time.  We also distribute Prayer Request cards each Sunday and collect them during the offering so that the Deacons can follow up with prayers, emails, phone calls and personal contact.

  • Pastoral Care:  If you need pastor assistance, please call the church office at 933-9680.

In the midst of all of our hard work and discipleship, we sure do like to have fun and meet new people.  We gather together for several fellowship events during the year:

  • Pancake Breakfast:  Annual event held at the New Albany Elementary Cafeteria after the Sunday morning service.  We serve lots of delicious pancakes, eggs and sausages.
  • Christmas Dinner:  Annual event held at the home of one of our members in New Albany.   This is an adult only gathering to celebrate the Holiday season, the year that is ending and the start of the new year.
  • Fall Festival on the Farm:  Annual event held at the farm of one of our members.  This is a Sunday afternoon of swimming, fishing, games, eating and lots of activities for our Church family.
